What changed: the "what survives" paragraph now names the do-not-mail entry kept when an email to you bounced or was reported as spam, which the Privacy Policy Section 9 already stated; nothing else changed. If you asked a business for an estimate
The business whose estimator you used holds your details, and they decide what happens to them. You have three routes:
- Ask the business directly. They can delete your record from their dashboard immediately. This is the fastest route, and it is the one we recommend.
- Email us at sebastien@beyondtheedgestudio.com. Give the email address or the phone number you used. Either is enough; you do not need both, and you do not need to remember which business it was. We will find your record, delete it, and confirm. If a contractor is the one who must act, we will pass the request to them and tell you we have.
- Do nothing. Your record is deleted automatically 24 months after you submitted it, unless the business has chosen a different period, which can be anything from 1 month to 7 years (ask them which applies).
What deletion covers: your name, your email address and phone number, your answers, the estimate calculated for you, the postal area you gave, your preferred contact time, any photographs you uploaded, the scrambled record of your internet address, and the record of the consent you gave. All of it goes.
What survives: the daily count of how many people used that estimator. Those totals hold nothing that identifies you and cannot be traced back to you, so there is nothing personal left to delete. If an email we sent you bounced or you reported it as spam, we also keep that email address, and nothing else, on a do-not-mail list so that we never write to it again (Privacy Policy, Section 9).
Timing: we respond within 30 days if you are in the EU or UK, and within 45 days, extendable once with notice, in the US. [GDPR and UK GDPR Art. 12(3) (one month, extendable by two) and Art. 17 (erasure); CCPA, Cal. Civ. Code §1798.105 and §1798.130(a)(2) (45 days, extendable once by 45).]
If you have an EdgeQuote contractor account
Write to sebastien@beyondtheedgestudio.com from your account address and ask us to close it. Your data stays available for export for 30 days and is then deleted. Automatic deletion of your homeowners' leads continues to run in the meantime.
If you asked us for a demo
Demo requests are deleted automatically after 12 months. To have yours removed sooner, email the address above.
Other rights
As well as deletion you can ask to see your data, to have it corrected, to receive a copy, or to object to its use. Same address, same timescales. If you are in the EU you may also complain to your data protection authority; in France that is the CNIL (cnil.fr).

Si vous avez demandé une estimation à une entreprise
L'entreprise dont vous avez utilisé l'estimateur détient vos informations et décide de leur sort. Trois possibilités :
- Demandez-le directement à l'entreprise. Elle peut supprimer votre fiche depuis son tableau de bord immédiatement. C'est la voie la plus rapide, et celle que nous recommandons.
- Écrivez-nous à sebastien@beyondtheedgestudio.com. Indiquez l'adresse e-mail ou le numéro de téléphone que vous avez utilisé. L'un des deux suffit, et vous n'avez pas besoin de vous souvenir de quelle entreprise il s'agissait. Nous retrouverons votre fiche, la supprimerons et vous le confirmerons. Si c'est à l'entreprise d'agir, nous lui transmettrons la demande et vous en informerons.
- Ne faites rien. Votre fiche est supprimée automatiquement 24 mois après votre demande, sauf si l'entreprise a choisi une autre durée, qui peut aller de 1 mois à 7 ans (demandez-lui celle qui s'applique).
Ce que la suppression couvre : votre nom, votre adresse e-mail et votre numéro de téléphone, vos réponses, l'estimation calculée, la zone postale indiquée, votre créneau de contact préféré, les photos que vous avez envoyées, la version hachée de votre adresse internet et l'enregistrement du consentement donné. La totalité.
Ce qui subsiste : le décompte quotidien du nombre de personnes ayant utilisé cet estimateur. Ces totaux ne contiennent rien qui vous identifie et ne peuvent pas vous être rattachés : il n'y reste aucune donnée personnelle à supprimer. Si un e-mail que nous vous avons envoyé a été rejeté ou signalé comme indésirable, nous conservons aussi cette adresse e-mail, et rien d'autre, sur une liste de non-envoi afin de ne plus jamais vous écrire (Politique de confidentialité, section 9).

Si vous avez un compte professionnel EdgeQuote
Écrivez à sebastien@beyondtheedgestudio.com depuis l'adresse de votre compte et demandez sa fermeture. Vos données restent exportables pendant 30 jours, puis sont supprimées. La suppression automatique des fiches de vos clients continue de s'appliquer entre-temps.
Si vous nous avez demandé une démonstration
Les demandes de démonstration sont supprimées automatiquement au bout de 12 mois. Pour une suppression anticipée, écrivez à l'adresse ci-dessus.
Autres droits
Outre la suppression, vous pouvez demander l'accès à vos données, leur rectification, une copie, ou vous opposer à leur utilisation. Même adresse, mêmes délais. Dans l'UE, vous pouvez également saisir votre autorité de protection des données ; en France, la CNIL (cnil.fr).

NOTES FOR YOUR LAWYER
- Route 2 lets a person delete a record without proving they own the address. The product looks up by email or phone. Confirm what verification is required before acting, and add it to this page, because a deletion request is also a plausible way to destroy a competitor's lead. The current draft says only that we "find your record."
- The suppression list is not mentioned. If someone's address is on the bounce/complaint suppression list, deleting their lead does not remove that entry, and it is arguably right that it does not. Decide the position and state it here, because a person told "all of it goes" may reasonably disagree.
- Contractor deletion versus homeowner rights. If a contractor closes their account, their homeowners' data is deleted after 30 days. Confirm that satisfies erasure obligations owed to those homeowners in the interim.
- This page must be reachable without signing in, in both English and French, and should be linked from the homeowner notice and every estimate email.
WHAT THIS DOES NOT COVER
- Data the business holds about you outside EdgeQuote, including anything you sent them by phone, text or email directly.
- Anything a business exported before you asked for deletion.
